"When it comes to hiccups, and also when it comes to everything else, I like to remind myself that every other time I thought something wasn’t going to end, it ended."
John Green (Advice on Dumb Boyfriends, Going to College, and More)
This quote has been stuck in my head for a year now. I completely forgot what video it was from, and I’ve been looking for it for the longest time.
This quote has helped me through things as trivial as waiting for my ride to pick me up, to surviving a stressful week of volunteer work in the summer in an urban environment that was new and scary to me. It has served as a reminder that time always moves on, whether I want it to or not.
I was sure it must have been the answer to something like “when does puberty end” or “how do I survive high school after coming out of the closet.” It wasn’t until today that I finally found it, having skipped over the video countless times, because I had forgotten that it was in reply to a question about how to cure your hiccups.
This quote has pulled me through so many moments, inconsequential or otherwise, and it will probably pull me through more. Why? Because somebody had hiccups.

Simple, sage advice. :)
